Paradip : “Focus on Safety Leadership for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Excellence” as the theme, observation of the 53rd National Safety Day and Week began at Paradip Port Authority. Gracing the occasion as Chief Guest, Shri P L Haranadh, Chairman, PPA inaugurated Safety Week Celebrations in the morning. He flagged off an awareness rally of employees and workers from Administrative Building, which culminated at Gate No. 4 of PPA. Addressing the gathering he said that PPA is focusing on creating awareness on safety, proper training, changing attitude of employees towards safety and to provide proper personal protective equipment. Of late, PPA is concentrating on building Road over-bridges to nullify any eventuality arising due to train or truck movements. Already MCHP flyover has been constructed and work is going on in full swing for 2nd Exit-cum-Flyover Bridge. Another two flyovers will also come up. Widening of internal roads is going on, which will improve truck congestion and ensure safety.
Shri Nilabhra Dasgupta, Dy.Chairman, PPA, Capt. A.C. Sahoo, CME (I/c), other HoDs and Dy.HoDs, Shri Pradeep Kumar Kar along with safety officer Janardan Nayak , Regional Manager of M/s. Chennai Radha Engineering Works Pvt.Ltd., Shri A. Ramesh, co-ordinated the event. As part of weeklong celebrations, various awareness activities like safety essay, debate and poster competitions among employees and port users, seminars, dock safety training programmes, CPR Workshop activities will be conducted.
