Sambalpur , swa news : The 76th Republic Day was celebrated with great patriotic fervour and gaiety at all operational units and headquarters of Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), the leading coal producer in the country.
At the company headquarters here, the Tricolour was unfurled by Shri Uday Anant Kaole, Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD). The celebration was marked by enthusiastic participation from children from various local schools, who took part in a variety of activities to honour the national festival.
The CMD, who was the chief guest at the Republic Day celebrations held at Anand Vihar Grounds, inspected the Republic Day parade and took the salute of marching contingents from MCL Security, OISF, NCC, Scouts, Guides, and school children.
In his motivational address, Shri Kaole highlighted the invaluable contributions of coal miners in ensuring the country’s energy security. He emphasised the importance of putting forth wholehearted efforts in their respective professions to ensure the nation’s progress and prosperity.
Shri Keshav Rao, Director (Personnel), Shri PK Patel, Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO), and Shri AK Behura, Director (Finance), were present among the senior officers of the company at the celebrations.
The celebrations also featured vibrant cultural performances by school students, adding colour and enthusiasm to the event. Prizes were awarded to the winning teams by the dignitaries.
Similar Republic Day celebrations were organised across MCL’s operational areas and units in the districts of Angul, Jharsuguda, and Sundergarh in Odisha, fostering a spirit of unity and patriotism among the employees and local communities.
