September 11, 2026: TP Central Odisha Distribution Limited (TPCODL), a joint venture of Tata Power and the Government of Odisha, has been honoured with the prestigious ‘Ratha Seva Samman’ for ensuring uninterrupted, reliable and safe power supply during the world-famous Rath Yatra 2026 in Puri.
The honour was conferred during the 6th Ratha Seva Samman ceremony, organised by Shri Srikhetra Suchana at the Puri Town Hall, in recognition of TPCODL’s contribution towards the smooth, disciplined and successful conduct of the nine-day festival of Mahaprabhu Jagannath.
The Ratha Seva Samman was presented by Hon’ble Minister Shri Prithviraj Harichandan. The honour was received by Shri Smrutiranjan Swain, Superintending Engineer (SE), TPCODL, Puri, on behalf of the entire Puri Division team.
TPCODL’s successful management of the power supply during Rath Yatra 2026 was backed by more than six months of meticulous planning, proactive infrastructure preparedness, preventive maintenance and round-the-clock deployment of officers, engineers and field personnel. These efforts ensured reliable electricity supply and enhanced public safety during one of Odisha’s largest and most significant religious gatherings, witnessing the presence of millions of devotees.
The ceremony was attended by Hon’ble MP (Puri Lok Sabha) Dr. Sambit Patra, Hon’ble MP (Rajya Sabha) Shri Subhashish Khuntia, former MLA of Puri Shri Jayanta Kumar Sarangi, Inspector General of Police (Central Range) Shri Satyajit Nayak, along with distinguished servitors, public representatives and members of the intelligentsia.
