swa news : The working committee of All India Bank Officers’ Confederation (AIBOC) had organised ameeting on 12th November 2024 at Mumbai and resolved to launch a vigorous campaign to address these concerns affecting bank officers. In the current banking scenario,PSBs are facing acute shortage of man power, which impacts service quality and heightens staff stress. PSB employees are increasingly facing verbal and physical assaults while performing their duties. PSBs also execute most of the Government flagship schemes but their officers remain under relentless pressure. Absence of work life balance adversely affect their physical and mental health. DFS has also issued new directive for premature retirement. Social security post retirement has become a nightmare for bankers as NPS, being a market driven scheme, has shown inconsistent returns due to market fluctuation. AIBOC is demanding the immediate implementation of 5 day banking which is standard practice in many organizations such as Central Government, RBI, LIC etc.The Union has also demanded the appointment of Employee Directors and Non-Workmen Directors to bank boardsas mandated by law, to ensure employee representation in decision making process.
