Emergency Mock Drill Conducted at NTPC Darlipali

Darlipali,swa news : An emergency mock drill was successfully conducted at NTPC Darlipali on March 29, 2025, at 16:46 hours. The drill was organized under the guidance of the Deputy Director of Factories & Boilers (DDF&B), Sh. Bibhu Prasad and the Assistant Director of Factories & Boilers (ADF&B), Sh. Suvendu Shekhar Rout, Rourkela, Government of Odisha.

As part of the annual safety preparedness initiative, NTPC Darlipali conducts mock drills at regular intervals of six months to ensure readiness in handling emergency situations effectively. This exercise aimed to assess and enhance the preparedness of the employees and stakeholders in managing emergency challenges.

The mock drill was conducted near the Fire Oil Pump House (FOPH) area of the project. The scenario simulated a potential major fire hazard due to electrocution, which could result from hot work activity near the oil tank. The exercise provided crucial hands-on experience to the personnel involved, ensuring that safety protocols and emergency response mechanisms are effectively followed in case of an actual incident.

To strengthen the emergency response framework, NTPC Darlipali coordinated with its mutual aid partners, including the Dulunga Mines Project and Vedanta Ltd. Their involvement in the drill emphasized the importance of collaboration in emergency preparedness and response.

The mock drill was organized in the presence of the Head of the Project, Sh. Ram Bhajan Malik, GM (O&M) Sh. Hare Ram Singh, Deputy Commandant of CISF, Sh. L. Mohanty, senior NTPC officials, and security department officials. Their participation underscored NTPC’s commitment to upholding the highest safety standards and ensuring the well-being of its workforce and infrastructure.

NTPC Darlipali remains dedicated to prioritizing safety and preparedness through regular training, drills, and collaborative exercises. Such initiatives are integral to reinforcing a strong safety culture and ensuring a swift and effective response to any emergency.
