Bhubaneswar: swa news : Tourism is more than just an economic driver—it is a means of connecting people, cultures, and traditions, said Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati at the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Road Show in Bhubaneswar on Friday. The event was organized by the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Department and the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Forum.
The Governor commended Andhra Pradesh’s efforts to promote tourism and strengthen ties with Odisha, highlighting the deep historical and cultural connections between the two states.
“As the Governor of Odisha and a native of Andhra Pradesh, this event holds special significance for me. Andhra Pradesh boasts stunning landscapes, heritage sites, and spiritual landmarks. From Amaravati’s architectural marvels to Visakhapatnam’s serene beaches and Tirupati’s revered temples, the state offers a diverse range of experiences for travelers,” he said.

He emphasized the tourism potential of both states, noting that Odisha’s beaches, Jagannath Temple, Konark Sun Temple, tribal culture, and eco-tourism destinations complement Andhra Pradesh’s attractions. Together, they can offer visitors a rich and immersive travel experience.
The Governor called for enhanced collaboration between the tourism and hospitality sectors of both states. He advocated for joint promotions, improved travel connectivity, and shared initiatives to drive tourism growth. He also underscored the importance of infrastructure development and seamless connectivity between tourist destinations to further enhance the visitor experience.
Praising the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Department and Forum for organizing the event, he urged all stakeholders to work collectively to boost tourism while preserving natural and cultural heritage. By doing so, both states can create jobs, attract more visitors, and strengthen their cultural bonds.
The event also featured addresses from K. Vijaya Mohan, President of the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Forum, Debashis Mishra, President of the Enterprising Knot of Travel & Tourism Association (EKTTA) And Vice-President of the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Forum, Dr S. Prasanth.
