Bhubaneswar : Bhubaneswar : Paradip Port Authority Hospital in association with Bagchi Sri Shankara Cancer Centre and Research Institute, Bhubaneswar organized a Cancer Screening Camp for head & neck, breast & cervix for PPA staff & employees, as well as general public below poverty line, as part of community outreach. Shri U R Mohan Raju, Secretary, PPA inaugurated the camp in presence of Dr. B B Das, CMO, PPA & other HoDs of PPA and members of Paradip Ladies Club. Local women were sensitized about the causes of breast as well as cervical cancer, the social stigma, importance of self-examination & the need for early detection and treatment . its symptoms. 67 nos. of people were examined on the occasion. 14 nos. of PAP Smear were collected for microscopic examination. 36 nos. in cervix & 17 nos. for oral were evaluated. PPA has declared assistance to the ladies to get evaluated at Higher Centre. Speaking on the occasion, CMO, PPA assured help to the marginalized sections of women in the society with more such camps in future. Timely noble step of PPA was welcomed by the denizens of the Paradip Port Township.
