OBSERVANCE OF “VIGILANCE AWARENESS WEEK, 2023” IN STATE BANK OF INDIA

State Bank of India observed “Vigilance Awareness Week“ from 30/10/2023 to 05/11/2023.  The observance of “Vigilance Awareness Week” commenced with tri-lingual integrity pledge by all staff members. At Bank’s Local Head Office, Bhubaneswar, the integrity pledge was administered on 30.10.2023 by Shri Chander Shekhar Sharma, Chief General Manager.

The theme for this year is “Say no to corruption; commit to the Nation”.  Integrity pledge was administered to all including customers who were present at 11AM on 30/10/2023 in the banking hall of all the branches across the state.  As a part of observance of “Vigilance Awareness Week”, the Bank conducted Elocution /Drawing/Essay/Online Quiz competitions on the topic among the member staff and their wards. 

A Sand Art, featuring the theme of VAW was inaugurated by Shri Chander Shekhar Sharma, Chief General Manager in-front of the LHO premises on 30.10.2023. Banners/standees were displayed at prominent places of all Branches/Offices. Majority of our BC/CSPs in the Circle also took online pledge on the CVC site. Radio Jingle aired on Radio Chokalate and Sidhartha Radio on the theme of Vigilance Awareness Week. Walkathon events were also organised by different RBOs with participation of employees. Bank also conducted elocution/drawing contest among the students in different school/colleges across the state. To focus on eradication of corruption, Activities like, Gram Sabhas, SHG Melas and Customers’ Grievances Redressal Camps were organised by Branches, Regional Business Offices, Administrative Offices of SBI in different Districts of Odisha. 

A gathering of staff members was arranged in LHO premises on 04.11.2023 where the Chief General Manager, Shri Sharma and the Dy. General Manager, (SBI Vigilance Department), Shri Ladu Madhab Mishra spoke on Vigilance Awareness and various Preventive measure. Shri S. K. Priyadarsi, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Bhubaneswar-Cuttack, attended and shared his thoughts and emphasised the importance of this issue. At last, the meeting concluded with vote of thanks by Shri Janmejaya Jena, AGM (Vigilance).
