Tata Steel produced 5.25 million tonnes of crude steel in the first quarter

Bhubaneswar : Tata Steel has announced the production and delivery results for the first quarter of the financial year 2024-25. The company’s crude steel production in the first quarter was 5.25 million tonnes, up 5 percent year-on-year. Production was lower during the quarter due to plant shutdowns for maintenance. The company’s deliveries in India are currently at 4.94 million tonnes, which has grown by 3 percent year-on-year. This marked the company’s best ever quarter in terms of deliveries.

In the automotive and specialty products category, deliveries increased by 14 percent to 0.8 million tonnes. Passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles have achieved higher growth compared to the market. Deliveries in the branded products and retail category grew by 6 percent year-on-year to 1.7 million tonnes. Tata Tiscon’s deliveries grew by 15 percent year-on-year, while Tata Astro and Tata Stellium recorded their best year ever in terms of sales.

Deliveries of industrial products and projects reached 1.8 million tonnes, with engineering achieving the highest sales. Revenue from Tata Steel Asiana stood at Rs 644 crore, up 73 per cent year-on-year, with a 50 per cent increase in the number of exclusive customers.

Tata Steel Netherlands’ liquid steel production stood at 1.72 million tonnes, up year-on-year and quarter-on-quarter. Deliveries there increased by 11 percent year-on-year and 6 percent quarter-on-quarter to 1.52 million tons.

Tata Steel UK’s liquid steel production was 0.68 million tonnes while delivery was 0.69 million tonnes. Port Talbot’s Blast Furnace 5, which last produced molten steel on July 4, has been shut down. He is safely suspended.
