TPWODL Marks Gandhi Jayanti with Cleanliness Drive

Burla, October 3, 2026: Bringing together employees, Business Articulate, families and community partners for a cleaner environment, TP Western Odisha Distribution Limited (TPWODL), a joint venture between Tata power and Government of Odisha, organised cleanliness and community engagement drives in Sambalpur and Nuapada on October 2, marking Gandhi Jayanti..

The drive saw active participation from TPWODL employees, Business Associate (BA) teams, their families and community stakeholders. Along with cleaning activities, the programme focused on responsible waste management, environmental awareness and tree plantation, encouraging people to take collective responsibility for keeping their surroundings clean and green.

The programme in Burla, held at Right Dyke, Hirakud Dam, was attended by Shri Parveen Verma, CEO, TPWODL, along with Shri Hariom Bhoi, Shri Viktor Soren and Shri Devendra Rout, Deputy Commissioners of Sambalpur Municipal Corporation, and Shri Rajesh Mahakud, Forest Ranger, Sambalpur.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Parveen Verma, CEO, TPWODL, said, “Cleanliness and environmental protection are responsibilities we all share. Through initiatives like Tata Volunteering Week, we bring our employees, Business Associates, their families and local communities together to contribute to a cleaner and healthier environment. Such collective efforts help build awareness and encourage lasting community participation.”

The programme also recognised the contributions of Business Associate teams and housekeeping staff through the ‘Touching BA Lives’ initiative. Adding a celebratory touch to the occasion, families of BA employees presented dance and musical performances. A street play (Nukkad Natak) was also staged to spread awareness about the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana and the ULA Scheme, connecting with the community through an engaging, local communication format.

Similar cleanliness initiatives were organised at the Mini Stadium by TPWODL’s Nuapada Electricity Division, where employees participated in activities promoting cleanliness and civic responsibility. In Burla, the company’s security team also carried out cleanliness activities across office premises, extending the message of the initiative to the workplace.

As part of Tata Volunteering Week 2026, TPWODL is organising a series of activities across Western Odisha to promote cleanliness, environmental awareness, civic responsibility and community participation.
