Three drinking water kiosks were inaugurated today in Baripada by the Hon’ble Minister, Housing & Urban Development (H&UD), Government of Odisha, with the objective of providing safe, clean and accessible drinking water to the public.
The three water kiosks are located at Meher Colony, Jubilee Pond and Maa Ambika Pump House. The kiosks will facilitate convenient access to safe drinking water for residents and the general public, particularly in areas witnessing regular public movement.
The inauguration programme was attended by the Hon’ble MLA, Baripada, along with other dignitaries, members of the public and officials of WATCO and Baripada Municipality.
Representing WATCO, Shri Gulshan Kumar Sahu, General Manager, attended the programme along with Shri Bipin Bihari Das, Manager, and Assistant Managers Shri B. K. Sahoo, Shri Suprit Das and Shri Pravakar Singh, along with Jalsathis and other WATCO staff.
Following the inauguration, the Hon’ble H&UD Minister also visited the Water Treatment Plant (WTP), Baripada, and reviewed the functioning of the plant and various aspects of water treatment and supply. The officials briefed the Hon’ble Minister regarding the treatment process, operational arrangements, water quality monitoring and measures being taken to ensure reliable and quality drinking water supply to the people of Baripada.
The inauguration of the three water kiosks is an important step towards strengthening public drinking-water facilities in Baripada and ensuring that citizens have convenient access to safe and quality drinking water.
The programme concluded with a renewed commitment from the concerned authorities and field teams towards quality water, efficient service delivery and better public convenience.
