Burla, September 30, 2026: TP Western Odisha Distribution Limited (TPWODL), a joint venture between Tata Power and Government of Odisha has secured 21 Gold and 5 Silver awards at the Chapter Convention on Quality Concepts (CCQC) 2026, with all 26 teams representing the organisation earning recognition for their quality and improvement projects. Adding to the achievement, Team Arthasiddhi won the prestigious JK Dash Rolling Trophy – Gold Award in the Kaizen category.
The 34th Rourkela Chapter Convention and 8th Bhubaneswar Chapter Convention, organised by the Quality Circle Forum of India (QCFI), were held on September 26 and 27 at Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), Rourkela, and SOA University, Bhubaneswar, respectively. Held on the theme “Leading with Quality for Sustainable Growth and Self-Reliance,” the conventions brought together teams from across organisations to present improvement projects, share best practices and demonstrate practical approaches to enhancing quality, productivity and operational performance.
The TPWODL teams represented diverse business functions, including Operations, Technical Services, Commercial, IT, Finance, DSS, Contracts and Stores. Their projects addressed a range of business and operational challenges, including improving feeder and network reliability, reducing SAIDI and SAIFI, strengthening consumer complaint compliance, optimising inventory, improving voltage performance, enhancing safety practices and developing digital solutions for field and customer-facing processes.
Among the standout projects was Team Arthasiddhi’s solution for a unique billing process for an OHPC colony through energy balancing for temporary supply cases. The team secured the second-highest rank among 228 teams, representing around 1,050 participants from 25 organisations, in the Kaizen category, earning the JK Dash Rolling Trophy – Gold Award.
In addition, seven TPWODL teams were felicitated for their performance in the Knowledge Test at the Rourkela Chapter, recognising their understanding and application of quality concepts.
